The first thing to do when you buy the phone is to plug it to your computer so to get it working and started. You’ll  have to open iTunes in Italy and download  the program for free on your PC (every iPhone can exchange its data on maximum 5 computers and at the 6th you must cancel the first). Then, you’ll need to provide your personal information and your credit card number: but it is a secure operation and you’ll have to do it only for the first time.
